School of Education Ceremony
Our School of Education Commencement will follow the morning ceremony in The Grove (main stage).
*Please be present at 10:15am or immediately following the morning ceremony.
Where do we line up and what time?
Undergraduates: Signs for your program area (B.A.Ed. - Elementary, Secondary and SPED) will be posted in the section of chairs directly in front of the Grove Stage (Ventress Hall/Circle side). You will be pre-seated prior to the start of the ceremony. *Look for your program sign and for SOE Staff to assist you.
Graduates: Signs for your program areas (Specialists, masters, etc.) will be posted near the section of chairs in front of the Grove Stage (Ventress Hall/Circle side). Staff will be available to assist you in getting your reader's card and then being pre-seated in the graduate section.
Where do I get my reader's card?
If you have already received your "reader's card" please remember to bring it with you. If you do not have a reader's card, they will be distributed to you on-site in the line-up. (Note: this is the card you will hand to the faculty reader for your name to be called as you walk across the stage to receive your diploma cover).
Additional Comments:
Graduates may want to bring bottled water to have during the ceremony as it is often hot outside, particularly while you are in your regalia of cap and gown.
Inclement Weather
In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will take place in The Pavilion at 6:00pm. Candidates should be present no later than 5:15pm. Look for program signs on the ground floor of The Pavilion in graduate seating area. Inclement weather notification will be distributed via the University no later than 8am the day of Commencement.
We look forward to seeing you at Commencement. Congratulations!
