Morning Ceremony (9am, The Grove)

Graduates participating in the morning ceremony should look for signs for the EDUCATION section. You will sit with your peer graduates and should be seated by 8:40am. The morning ceremony begins at 9:00am in The Grove. (Inclement weather location: The Pavilion at 9:30 a.m.)

School of Education Ceremony (11am, The Grove)

Our School of Education Commencement will follow the morning ceremony in The Grove (main stage).
*Please be present at 10:15am or immediately following the morning ceremony.

Where do we go to be seated?

All Education Graduates (i.e. Doctorate, Specialists, Master's, Bachelor's): Look for signs for your DEGREE program (i.e. Doctorate, Specialist, Master's, Bachelor's) which will be posted in the section of chairs in front of the Grove Stage. You will be pre-seated prior to the start of the ceremony. SOE staff will be on-site to assist you with seating.

Please note: Graduates will not be seated alphabetically or by emphasis areas other than by degree. Please plan to be ready to get seated as soon as possible upon arrival to our reserved seats section for Graduates.

Where do I get my reader's card?

Undergraduate education graduates will receive their reader's card during exit interviews with your University Supervisor—please bring your card to the ceremony. Graduate level education graduates received an email from meblack@olemiss.edu with instructions on where to pick up your card in advance. For graduates who do not have their cards with them upon arrival on May 11th, we will have a specific table located by the Grove Stage for pick up. (Note: A reader's card is the card you will hand to the faculty reader for your name to be called as you walk across the stage).

Additional Comments:

Graduates may want to bring bottled water to have during the ceremony as it is often hot outside, particularly while you are in your regalia of cap and gown.

Inclement Weather Location (6pm, The Pavilion)

In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will take place in The Pavilion at 6:00pm. Candidates should be present no later than 5:15pm. Look for degree program signs on the ground floor of The Pavilion graduate seating area. Inclement weather notification will be distributed via the University no later than 8am the day of Commencement.

We look forward to seeing you at Commencement. Congratulations!
