Galena School is a Title I school located in Marshall County, Mississippi about 30 minutes north of Oxford. We are currently rated Successful and had the highest amount of growth in the school district according to the Mississippi Accountability Model. We are a very small and rural school that is the heart of a close-knit community. There is currently an opportunity in 4th grade for an energetic, eager, and coachable teacher. Galena is projected to be rated High Performing next year, and this success comes from an intense focus on teachers' pedagogy, data, technology, and being student-centered. The projected student-teacher ratio for the 4th grade is 18 to 1, and the classroom is equipped with a Smartboard, Smart Clickers, Document Camera, access to a mobile Mac lab, access to a mobile PC lab, and access to IPads.
