We're poised for a big fall at the Ole Miss School of Education. So far, nearly 100 new undergraduates have gone through our orientation program this summer and we expect our online master's programs in elementary, higher and literacy education to grow and reach even more working educators across Mississippi and beyond.

Alumni News: Mississippi Teacher Corps Alumna Named Top Teacher at North Panola High School

Golda Sharpe

Mississippi Teacher Corps alumna Golda Sharpe has been named Teacher of the Year at North Panola High School in Sardis.

Sharpe, who has taught algebra at North Panola High School since graduating from the University of Mississippi in 2009, was selected for the award by fellow teachers for her tireless work with nearly 75 ninth- and 10th-graders. Read More...


Forgotten Films: Special Education Professor's Research Project Humanizes Special Needs Individuals Through Film

As a child, University of Mississippi special education professor Jim Payne bought pencils from a dwarfed, deaf and nearly blind man outside a Woolworth's store in downtown Lawrence, Kansas. Decades later, that man is the subject of Payne's latest research project.
