SOE Awards

The School of Education invites nominations for the annual Outstanding Scholar, Outstanding Teacher and Outstanding Service Awards.

  • Outstanding Scholar Award - Seeks to recognize one faculty member who has made an exceptional contribution to the general scholarship in their field through publications, presentations, external funding, mentoring of doctoral students, and other scholarly pursuits during the academic year. A case for recognition could be made on the basis of quality or quantity of contribution and a variety of outputs.
  • Outstanding Teacher Award - Seeks to recognize one full-time SOE faculty for outstanding teaching of undergraduate and/or graduate students during the academic year. A case for recognition could be made on the basis of exceptional classroom instruction but also for teaching beyond the classroom to include supervision, advising, and mentoring of students in school, university, and community settings.
  • Exemplary Service Award - Seeks to recognize a faculty or staff member for exceptional service to the profession or to the local or University community, region, state, or national and international scholarly communities during the academic year. A case for recognition could be made on the basis of outstanding research, programming or outreach that addresses the needs of a specific community, for example, or brings enhanced recognition to the SOE generally.
