Who We Are: The SOE Board of Advisors
Comprised of alumni, faculty, staff, parents, and friends of the School of Education, the Board of Advisors serves as action and advisory voices for SOE Leadership.
- Our Board includes individuals with vast experiences teaching in the classroom teaching, educational leadership and administration, school and mental health counseling, play therapy, behavioral therapy, higher education leadership and administration, and educational research.
Board members are selected by nominations of current Board members, faculty and staff of the SOE, or self nominations.

Furthering the Mission
The SOE Board of Advisors provides advice and counsel to the Dean and SOE Leadership on the School's strategic priorities, goals, and outcomes. The Board is a direct line to help faculty and staff better prepare future teachers, educational leaders, counselors, and higher education professionals to make a difference in Mississippi and beyond.

Support Students & Scholarship
Since 2021, the Board of Advisors provides micro grant funding opportunities for faculty and students to pursue research or community action projects that advance teaching, learning, service, and scholarship at the School of Education. The Board accepts and reviews project applications annually and provides up to $1,500 for a select number of projects.
