The MississippiExcellence in Teaching Program attracts top-performing students into education with full financial support and professional development incentives. Students commit to teaching in Mississippi for five years after graduation, helping build a pipeline of talented educators for the state's future. Funded by the Robert M. Hearin Support Foundation, METP offers an honors college-style learning experience that promotes collaboration between high-achieving education students and faculty at Ole Miss.

  • Student Advising & Field Experience

    The School of Education SAFE Office provides support to undergraduate students in the School of Education. Our office advises students in a variety of degree programs in teacher education (early childhood, elementary, special education, health and physical education and secondary level programs). Additionally, the SAFE Office houses staff associated with field experience requirements and teacher licensure.

    The Bridge program aims to facilitate the transition into college by providing academic and social support to all University of Mississippi students who have been diagnosed with autism. Through mentorship, tutoring, and activities, members are able to navigate higher education with ease.
